Research Excellence and High-Impact Institutional R&D Ecosystem
Vardhaman College of Engineering has emerged as a dynamic center for research, innovation, and technology-driven problem-solving.
Strengthening this ecosystem, the Vardhaman Research Promotion Scheme (VRPS) provides SEED support to both students and faculty, fostering ideation, prototype development, and early-stage research. Complementing this is the AICTE IDEA Lab, extensive prototyping facilities, and a strong research output of 400+ patents filed (35+ granted), 3500+ publications—including 250+ in Q1 journals—and 10,000+ citations.
The college continues to expand its global research footprint through collaborations with leading institutions such as Purdue University, University of Texas at Dallas, IITs, and IISc, facilitating joint projects, knowledge exchange, and advanced research pipelines. Its 20+ industry-driven Centers of Excellence—established with technology leaders such as Intel, Salesforce, Cadence, National Instruments, and MathWorks—enhance interdisciplinary research and project-based learning. In the frontier technology domain, Vardhaman has partnered with the C2S (Chips to Startup) Program of the ChipIN Centre, MeitY, Government of India, managed by CDAC Bangalore, strengthening semiconductor research and capacity-building programs for 350+ students and faculty.
The institution’s societal commitment extends through large-scale STEM education outreach programs benefiting 2000+ school students and 300+ teachers, advancing SDGs such as SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities & Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action) through engineering-aligned interventions and technology-enabled learning.

Vardhaman fosters a vibrant innovation and startup culture through VEC-CRIF, a Section 8 Company recognized by the Ministry of MSME, with the institution formally identified as a Business Incubation Unit under MSME schemes. The campus supports a thriving entrepreneurship ecosystem with pre-incubation and incubation support, alongside consultancy and technology development projects generating ₹2+ crores with industry partners such as GHMC, HMRL, D2Technologies, Dynosole and Powertronics etc. Collectively, these initiatives position Vardhaman College of Engineering as a forward-looking institution that integrates cutting-edge engineering research, industry collaboration, deep-tech innovation, and societal impact, contributing meaningfully to national missions and global sustainable development goals
